- It is a short week for me at the office. The big event is the Youth Camping and Family Camp retreat through this coming weekend. Pray for the students that left on Wed, The families will be joining us on Friday evening for the weekend. I am excited to have Pastor Berney’s brother, Barry, as our guest speaker.
- We will be hosting two services this week. We will be holding our regular 10AM service at Marcus Whitman Jr. High. Any help with setup, we start at 8am, or with teardown after the service would be appreciated. Pastor Barry and Zac will also be leading a service Sunday morning at the camp. I hope that you can attend one of these two events.
- Those not attending are invited to join us for the day or evening. We will have a special Campfire time on Saturday evening for those that would like to join us for the day or evening. There is a $10 day fee for those coming for the day. Please stop by the camp office. The church common site is on the Northern loop site #59. If we are not there then we will be down at the water!
- Continue to pray for those families in our congregation that are walking through difficult times right now. Prayer requests and update are distributed for our prayer group (and other ministries) on our church social network called “the City.” Please contact Pastor Joe of the church office for an invite to join.
- Please keep praying for someone that can “Sign” in the service. We would like to offer this. We have been unable to locate someone that could help. Please let Pastor Joe know if you have any ideas.
- Our August MMV is “There is therefore now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.” (Romans 8:1) I hope you are encouraged and strengthened as you commit this verse to memory. Also let me encourage those of you with smart phones or tablets to check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
- This week we move into Romans 12. I know I say this about every Bible passage, but this is one of my favorites. We will be taking a fly over of chapter 12 as we focus on how the Gospel impacts every area of our lives. We will be highlighting several core themes where the gospel will make a difference in life, from your prospective on yourself to resolving conflict with others. I appreciate your prayers as I cram a bunch of stuff into the next couple days.
