Rearview Mirror 10-31-2019

  •      A huge “Thank You!” to everyone that have prayed and participated in the “Step in Faith” campaign. It is incredible to see how the Lord has worked through our congregation.  Also just a reminder that our emphasis is for 12 months, so there is still time to be a part of what the Lord is doing!
  •      I want to give a shout out to everyone that provided soup, bread and desserts for our Celebration Potluck after the Sunday service. It was also great to share a meal with other believers. There is something special about a meal together. I also want to thank everyone that helped out with setup and tear down also. Thanks.
  •     The site work on the property is done with a few loose ends. I want to give a shout out to our contractor partners like Caseco for their part in the project! Please continue to pray. We are still waiting on electricity to be installed. Also pray for the loose ends that need to be worked out. Pray also that we are able to get the fencing and landscaping installed.
  •      There is a workday planned from 9am-noon at the property this Saturday November 2. Pastor Berney will be in charge. Our focus is to get as many of the 91 remaining (we have planted 66) Leyland Cypress in the ground before they are damaged by the freezing weather. We also need to remove a section of fencing that will be replaced with vinyl. Just a reminder that we have also planned work days for Saturdays November 9 and 16. We must complete the fencing before we can get our SDAP permit completed.
  •      We will be continuing Operation Christmas Child through the month of November. This week we will talk more about this ministry. There will be boxes available in the foyer. We will be encouraging each family to fill shoe boxes for this year’s drive to touch the hearts of children around the world with the love of a Christmas gift. The collection deadline will be November 17th.
  •      Ladies Discipleship group will be meeting on Saturday November 9th from 10am-Noon. We are asking our families to give priority to attending this monthly time over the workday schedule.
  •      Be sure to pass the word on AWANA. We are meeting at Givens Center again this year at 5:30 pm on Sundays. Let me encourage you to reach out to other families that have students in the K- 6th grade range to encourage them to attend. Please contact Pastor Berney with any questions.
  •      Gals, there is a Ladies Bible Study Tuesday 6:30 at Ragsdale’s for those interested. The Guys study is Wednesday at 7 pm. You will need to contact Pastor Berney since they rotate locations.
  •      The Six 8 Youth Ministries is rolling with the High School students meeting Friday evenings and the Jr. High group meeting Sundays from 5:30- 8:30. Please contact Pastor Zac with any questions.
  • I have a host home for an adult small group. Please let me know if you are interested in being a part of the group, please contact Pastor Joe.
  • We are taking a break from Our Monthly Memory Verse progression through Psalm 100. We will be doing one key verse from the Roman’s Road for the next three weeks as part of our new Sermon Series. This week’s verses is  “For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord.” Romans 6:23 ESV If you are struggling in this area, let me encourage you to check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
  • This Sunday we will be launching our new three week series “How I Share the Gospel.” All three pastors will be taking one week to share how they share Jesus with others. Our emphasis will be to encourage our congregation to learn and use the Roman’s Road presentation to share Jesus with others. First up is Pastor Berney. I know that he would covet your prayers as he prepares for this Sunday.
