The Lord's message to the church at Thyatira is to "take Me seriously!" The church was embracing the false teaching of a false teacher that they had allowed into leadership. The result was the compromised and distortion of the message. The primary error was embracing sinful cultural practice over obedience to God's Word. It is in the letter that we see Jesus love through His difficult words that would bring about change. IT is a call for Jesus followers to guard their lives and their churches from false teaching.
