Rearview Mirror 9-6-2018

  • It is hard to believe that another summer is quickly passing. The exciting part of reaching the end of summer for me is that it is the beginning of a new ministry year. It means that Living Hope will celebrate its 17th year of existence. And just like with a 17 year old the future is incredibly bright and exciting. Let me encourage you to pray specifically that the Lord would use us for His glory over the next ministry year!
  • Just a reminder that our Kids Zone Ministry will be kicking off this Sunday for the new year. I want to give a shout out to the teachers and the volunteers that helped with the special summer program. Thank you.
  • The AWANA program is gearing up for fall. First, the club will be meeting at the Givens Community Center. The new location provides space to accommodate the programs growth and prepares us for the sale of the Ministry Center. There is an AWANA Volunteers meeting this Sunday September 9th , 5:30pm at the Ministry Center. The AWANA program will start the following Sunday, September 16th at Givens.
  • The Ladies Discipleship group will be meeting this Saturday, September 8th 10am-12 Noon at the Ministry Center.
  • We have been busy organizing the Ministry Center stuff. We are currently packing up the library and digitizing church records. We are making great progress on both fronts. We could use more help and especially someone to help pack up the kitchen.  If you are available to help, please talk with Pastor Joe.
  • There has been no new progress on the ministry center. The entrance will be installed on the property on September 18th.
  • I keep posting this because this is an important need. Would you join me in praying for the help needed with our financial ministries? If you have a desire to help in this area please reach out to Pastor Joe or Nathan F.
  • Our MMV for September is Romans 8:37.  It is a powerful reminder our relationship with the creator! ““No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.” (Romans 8:37 ESV)  If you are needing some accountability with working on your verse please check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
  • This Sunday I want to develop from 2 Samuel  the need to be forward looking as those praying “Letting God Use Me.” It is something that we saw from King David as he fled the city and Absalom’s wrath. He continued to place his trust in God when the circumstances seems to indicate just the opposite. We will be challenged to be people who “Learn to be Hopeful.” I know that this can sound old but “Thank You” for praying!
