Rearview Mirror 9-5-2019

  •      This fall is the launch of our 19th year of ministry. I want to give a shout out to everyone who keeps Living Hope rolling. This month is a time to celebrate the Lord’s faithfulness over the last 18 years and then to step by faith into the 19th. September is the time when we begin a rolling launch of our ministries for the new year. Let me encourage you, if you are not already a part, to jump on board.
  •      The work on the property has been on hold while we have been working on two behind the scene administrative tasks. We have been working on getting an additional approval for the sewer installation. We have also been working with three property neighbors on moving their water line easement out of the way. So it has been a busy time for me tying down these loose ends. The work on installing the utilities should start back up next week.
  •      Ladies there will be a baby shower for Stephanie Frame on Saturday September 14th from 10am – Noon at the Sutherland’s home.
  •      Property Team Members, just a reminder that we have a Team meeting this Sunday 6pm at the Parkinson’s home. Please let Pastor Joe know if you cannot attend.
  •      We have scheduled a Property Work Day for Saturday September 14 from 8AM to 10 AM (we understand that some may need to leave early for the baby shower.) We have two major tasks. We want to clean up the portion of lawn next to Sedgwick Rd. It would be best if we could have several weed eaters. We also need to paint primer on the skirting of the office modular. The church will provided the paint and equipment, just dress accordingly. We also need to work on the plumbing tree, water and water heater vent plumed . If you are able to help with any of these please contact Pastor Joe
  •      Ladies, just a reminder that there will be no Ladies Discipleship group in September. The ladies ministry focus in September will on the fall ministry launch which is scheduled for Saturday September 28. Be sure to sign up to attend and what you will be bringing for the potluck. There will be inserts in the bulletin again Sunday.
  •      AWANA begins Sunday September 15th at the Givens Center location. Let me encourage you to reach out to other families that have students in the K- 6th grade range to encourage them to attend. Please contact Pastor Berney with any questions.
  •     The Six 8 Youth Ministries will also start up their school year schedule with the High School students meeting Friday evening and the Jr. High group meeting Sunday from 5:30- 8:30. Please contact Pastor Zac with any questions.
  •      We are desiring to start at least one couples group this fall. If you are interested in hosting or being a part of the group, please contact Pastor Joe.
  • Let me encourage you to reflect on Psalm 100:1-2 for our services this Sunday. Our Monthly Memory Verse for October is, “Serve the Lord with gladness! Come into his presence with singing!” Psalm 100:2 ESV  A powerful reminder about the need to serve and worship with the right attitude. If you are struggling in this area, let me encourage you to check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
  • This Sunday will take us into 1 Corinthians Chapter 14. We will be focusing on “Being Wise About My Beliefs.” One thing we often forget is that followers of Jesus are just passing through in this life. Our real home is in heaven.  It is freeing when we come to grips with the security of our relationship with God. Thanks again for praying for our service this Sunday and the ministry of the Word. You may have noticed that due to the quantity of Biblical truth in each chapter I am having to be selective. Pray that the Lord would lead me to that portion for our congregation. Thanks for praying.
