- The hearing to get our Conditional Use Permit was this morning. Overall it went very well except for one thing, a last minute letter with several questions and issues raised by the City of Port Orchard. Our project is not located in the city, but because we are in a growth development area the City has an interest in any development in areas that they could annex in the future. The city was not notified and as a result of the issues raised, primarily on traffic issues, the Hearing Examiner has issued a continuance for three weeks. The Hearing Examiner, with the agreement of all parties, will hold open for three weeks the ability for parties to submit concerns and or make further conditions for her to consider in the approval of our permit. I appreciate your continued prayers for this.
- Let us continue to remember those that are struggling in our congregation and around our country. I am thankful that the current storms are past, but now begins the process of rebuilding for those in Texas, Florida and other effected areas.
- Our AWANA program launched Sunday evening. I believe that it is one of our most important ministries as we strive to help young people know Jesus better. The time spent is an investment in God’s kingdom.
- Ladies, the Women’s Fall Ministry Kickoff is Saturday September 23rd at the Ministry Center. I hope you are able to make it to this special event.
- There will be several opportunities to get plugged into new small groups that are launching this month. There will be men’s and women’s groups as well as a Parenting Class. Keep your eyes on the bulletin for more information on each of these events.
- Please pray about the need we have for Sunday School teachers and AWANA helpers. If you are interested in either of these talk to Kendra (KidsZone/Sunday School) or Pastor Berney (AWANA).
- Please keep praying for someone that can “Sign” in the service. We would like to offer this. We have been unable to locate someone that could help. Please let Pastor Joe know if you have any ideas.
- Our September MMV is Romans 15:13 “May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” It is our growing relationship with Jesus that gives us the right attitude and strength to live for Him each day. Also let me encourage those of you with smart phones or tablets to check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
- We will continue our mini-series on Living Out Worship this Sunday as we work through Romans 15 as we look at our need to follow Jesus’ example. Paul explicitly challenges us to put others first. This chapter will challenge us to rethink the choices we make by taking others into consideration. I so appreciate your prayer support each week. I know that the strength and wisdom needed each day is because people are praying. The Lord is working through your prayers. Thanks for praying.
