Rearview Mirror 7-28-2017

• It is hard to believe that we completed our 13th year of CLEAT Soccer Camp. It is hard to imagine that the first one was the summer of 2004. It is amazing to see how the camp has developed over the years. It was another great camp. We had more players again this summer at 140. We also saw an increase in the afternoon College Prep Camp. I also wanted to say Thank You again to everyone that contributed to this year’s camp. We counted about 70 volunteers directly involved this year. Thank You!
• I heard good things about the Baby Shower for Sheila K this past Friday. I want to say thanks to those gals that put it together. The shower is not only a way to encourage the new parents but also a time to show our support for families.
• Thanks for the ideas on providing Sign Language in the services. I am posting this again to ask you to pray for this. We are in need to a person that can “Sign” in the service. We would like to offer this. We have been unable to locate someone that could help. Please let Pastor Joe know if you have any ideas.
• This is the last week for our July MMV. It is “I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works; my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:14 What a great verse for each of us to memorize! Also let me encourage those of you with smart phones or tablets to check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
• I still have a couple of spots available for Family Camp this summer at Lake Cushman over the weekend of August 25-27. I am hoping that there is one more family so that I do not have to turn this site back in. Please let Pastor Joe know asap.
• The focus this Sunday will be on the Celebration of the Gospel in Romans 8. The first 7 chapters of Romans deal with the need for the gospel with glimpses of God’s grace. Romans 8 is a chapter that reminds us of the incredible blessing that the Gospel brigs into the follower’s life. This is great stuff. Thank you for praying for the message and the service this Sunday!
