Rearview Mirror 3-29-2018

    • This week is the perfect time to invite family and friends to church. It has been said that most people would visit your church if you just asked them. This Sunday is also a time when many people consider attending church. So it is a great time to ask.
    • Let me say Thank You in advance to everyone working hard for this weekend of ministry. It is a huge blessing to have a talented and committed church membership.
    • We will kick off Easter Sunday with an earlier setup time of 7:40am for those interested in helping us get ready. The regulars would appreciate your help.
    • Thanks to everyone contributing towards Our Easter Brunch. Just a reminder that it will begin at approximately 9:15AM .
    • Thanks to everyone that will be providing Lilies. Please bring them to the front stage prior to the potluck.
    • We have been working on a special Easter service that focuses on God’s word and the significance of Easter Sunday to our everyday lives.
    • Following the 10am Service there will be an Egg Hunt for toddlers through 6th grade. We will ask parents of kids participating in the hunt to pick up their children and meet by the school’s trophy case for instructions.
    • Finally, our tear down this week will be limited, since it is also Spring break. We will be breaking down our stuff and staging it in certain designated places. If you are able to help, it would be appreciated.
    • A big thanks to Zac and Carol for their work on the Game Day this past Saturday. It is fun to be able to just hang out with other believers. This is another example of a “handful of quietness.
    • Ladies there is still time to get plugged into the new Ladies Bible Study “Is Genesis History?” meeting on Wednesday evenings, 6:30 PM at the Ragsdales. Please contact Robin for more information.
    • Guys, there are two men’s group for you. Pastor Berney is leading the one that meets on Tuesday evening at the Ministry Center at 7pm and Pastor Joe is leading a Thursday Morning 10:30 AM group that meets at the Ministry Center. We would love to invite you to join us.
    • I recently came across a website that contained a list of memory verses. I noticed on one list that we have missed a significant verse. So in preparation for a special church focus starting April 8th, Our April MMV (Monthly Memory Verse) is “Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will act.” Psalm 37:4–5 ESV Also I cannot say enough about finding a Scripture Memory app to use with smart phones or tablets. I whole heartedly recommend the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
    • This week as we celebrate Easter I am working on a special message in a continuation of our “Fulfilled!” sermon series. This week we will be taking a look at the first 7 verses of Ecclesiastes 9 where Solomon brings up a number of life barriers that Easter solved through Jesus’ resurrection. Once again I covet your prayers for my preparation and delivery on the special Sunday.
