Rearview Mirror 3-26-2020

  • It has been another interesting week as we have experienced a number of changes related to the Governor’s “Stay Home, Stay Safe” orders. We are all shuffling through trying to figure this all out.  Let me encourage you to take time, as they say, to smell the roses. I was able to do that this week when my attention was captured by our new landscape starting to bloom. I was reminded in a simple way that God is in control.
  • Last week the roof was replaced on the Office Modular. It was bad. It is good to have that done along with a good portion of the landscaping bark down. I also want to give a shout out to those who helped us move are church stuff out of storage and into the Office modular. We were able to get it out in one day with help from Steve, Gordon and Dan. We will continue to work alone on smaller tasks or in small groups as the situation allows. It does look like our project is on hold. Our classification is not included in those considered essential. I keep telling myself, God’s timing is perfect.
  • Just a reminder for those with Kids at home that Kendra has “Sunday School” curriculum for those parents interested. It can also be a wonderful source for a family devotion time (maybe after dinner around the table). Please contact her.
  • Let me remind you to join OnRealm our private online church communication platform. Invitation is by request only, so send Pastor Joe an email and phone number. You can now track your giving as well as give through Realm.
  • I hope our Sunday Live Stream has been a blessing. We will be Streaming again this  Sunday at 10 AM  to both Facebook and YouTube. (Clink Links). There are still those that are having difficulties. Please contact Pastor Joe for Tech Support. I am encouraging our congregation to get it set up on their TV. I see three benefits for this: 1. It allows your family to watch together. 2. It is easier to stay focused than just using your phone. 3. The picture quality is better.
  • I want to thank those that have sent donations via mail and using your bank’s Bill Pay service. You can now use Living Hope Online Giving(Clink Link). We now have three options for giving: 1. Mail a check to Living Hope Church, P.O. Box 908, Port Orchard, WA 98366. 2. Add the church to your Bank’s bill pay service if offered or  3. Use Living Hope Online Giving through the Realm. You do not need to be a Realm user to give but it does give you access to your giving account. The church does incur about a 3% fee for credit card transactions. Please contact Nathan F or Pastor Joe with any questions.
  • Gals, just a reminder that while our Women’s Ministry “One Day Ladies Retreat” is still on the calendar for April 25, it may not happen based on the Corona virus situation.
  • Our March memory verse, ““But when the fullness of time had come, God sent forth his Son, born of woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.” Galatians 4:4–5 ESV  If you struggle with memorizing or even consistency, let me encourage you to check out the Bible Memory App. (IOS and Android) www.BibleMemory.com
  • This Sunday we will be moving into the Galatians 5 as we are reminded of our “freedom” in Christ. Thank you for your prayers as I prepare for this week’s livestream. Pray that God would work in me and then through me!
