Rearview Mirror 3-22-2018

  • I never cease to be amazed at the Lord working through the big things and especially through the small things. We are continuing to move forward on the development of our property. This past week we made application for another permit. I would ask you to be in prayer for this as we trust the Lord to guide us through the process.
  • The last couple of Game Days have been very popular. The next one is this Saturday March 24 from 10am – 3pm at the Ministry Center. It is a great time to connect with others and to have fun. This is a family event for all ages. I hope to see you there.
  • It has been shown that more people would consider attending church with a friend if they were asked. The biggest religious day in our culture is coming up two Sundays. It is Easter. Let me encourage you to not only pray for those around you that do not know Jesus but invite them to our Easter Sunday activities. The day begins with an Easter Brunch, followed by an Easter Service and capped with an Egg Hunt for the children following the service.
  • Just a reminder to sign up for the Easter Bruch. The signup will be passed around again this Sunday.
  • There is also a need for candy donations for the Easter Egg Hunt. Please remember that all candy must be wrapped and small enough to fit in the plastic eggs. We will also accept financial donations for those interested in contributing for the candy. Just place your designated gift in the offering.
  • We also decorate the service with lilies that are loaned/donated by the congregation. Please check the Sunday bulletin for information if you are interested in helping with this.
  • Ladies there is still time to get plugged into the new Ladies Bible Study “Is Genesis History?” meeting on Wednesday evenings, 6:30 PM at the Ragsdales. Please contact Robin for more information.
  • Guys, there are two men’s group for you. Pastor Berney is leading the one that meets on Tuesday evening at the Ministry Center at 7pm and Pastor Joe is leading a Thursday Morning 10:30 AM group that meets at the Ministry Center. We would love to invite you to join us.
  • I have created a “group” on the ScritureTyper app for encouraging each of us to memorize the monthly verses. If you are interested in joining me and others in putting God’s work in our hearts, using your smart phone or tablet, click here to join the group. Our March MMV (Monthly Memory Verse) is “Better is a handful of quietness than two hands full of toil and a striving after wind.” Ecclesiastes 4:6 ESV  Let me encourage those of you with smart phones or tablets to check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
  • This week in our “Fulfilled!” series, we will be studying Ecclesiastes chapter 8. It is in this section that Solomon continues to address those answered questions that we have from observing life. His reminder is to keep our life in perspective and to enjoy the life that God has given us each day. The power behind ministry is prayer. I thank you for making the sacrifice to pray me as I study and for our church as we seek to represent Jesus everywhere are people go.
