Rearview Mirror 3-11-2021

  • This week I received some tough news about someone that I care very deeply about. The blessing is that this individual knows the Lord. The situation is not great but what an encouragement to know that they are in the Lord’s hand. And this is true for each of us.
  • The good news is we were able to call for the building inspection on Monday. The result was a list of 13 items which includes 12 we need to resolve. (The 13th was the need for the county to verify ramp grades.)  I can report that 9 of the items are already resolved. We expect that two more will be completed tomorrow leaving us with one item. The one item is a bigger item that is the builder’s responsibility. A sink in the ladies bathroom need to be moved to create enough clearance for ADA requirements. The good news is that a solution has been agreed upon and just needs be done. We have completed several other items on the site and have locked down some others. Can I say I feel like it should be Friday!
  • Just in case you are wondering, this pushes out any potential for meeting for another week. We will be able to call for a Final Inspections once the builder resolves the last issue.
  • We have two Men’s groups that are meeting. Pastor Berney leads a Thursday Evening group at 7:00 pm at the church studying the Minor Prophets. Pastor Joe is leading the Thursday Men’s daytime group at 10AM also at the office. The Thursday group is doing Sermon based discussions for those interested.
  • Ladies, time to make plans for the Spring Ladies Retreat. You will want to set aside Friday and Saturday of April 23rd and 24th for this special get together. Stay tuned for more information.
  • Six-8 Youth Jr high meets on Sundays 5-7pm at the Church Office. The Sr High is now meeting on Fridays 6:30-8:30pm also at the Church Office. The Tuesday night Youth Hangout 6:30-8:30pm for both groups will continue to be at the Schramek’s. Please contact Pastor Zac for more information.
  • Our Monthly Memory Verse for March 2021 reminds us of the importance of Godly living. It is a reminder that we are God’s light seen by others. “In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven.” Matthew 5:16 ESV  If you struggle with memorizing or even consistency, let me encourage you to check out the Bible Memory App. (IOS and Android) www.BibleMemory.com
  • I am excited about our new series from Philippians. Reading through the letter I was reminded of how much the Lord has blessed us. We have so much to be thankful for and joyous about! We will be looking at the next section in Philippians 1 this week. We covet your prayers for the preparation as we balance the weekly responsibilities with study.
