- It sure has been busy for me with all that the Lord is doing at Living Hope. It was good to have a large group for our 101 Discovering Church Membership CLASS. There are several as a result that will be Baptized at the end of the month and a number of new members. This is exciting.
- I want to say thanks to the guys that showed up on Tuesday to complete the house demolition and do some cleanup on the property. It is a huge blessing to have this task completed. We were able to fill the last dumpster and clean up some debris and furniture from the back of the property. We also had time on the excavator to clean up another big section of Scotch Broom and blackberry bushes opening up another section of the property.
- Men, just a reminder that this Friday evening at 7 PM we will be simulcasting the “Johnny Hunt” men’s conference. It will continue Saturday and we should be done by 1 PM. Those that attended last year were blessed and you are encouraged to join us this Friday at the Ministry Center.
- The Scramek’s will hosting a Superbowl Party at their home. We will have more information on Sunday for those interested. It begins at 3 pm and guests are encouraged to bring their “Favorite Fan Dessert.” I hope to see you there.
- In two weeks, we will be having a “Valentines Potluck” after the AM service. You are encouraged to bring a main dish and salad or a main dish and bread. The Women’s Ministry team will be providing the dessert.
- There is no Six-8 Youth this Friday but our teens will be getting away over Presidents Holiday weekend for the Annual Big Chill event. Pastor Berney will be our guest speaker. Please let Pastor Joe know if you or your student with be attending.
- The Christian life is really built on habits. On Saturday February 20th 9am – 3 pm will be looking at the “How to’s” of establishing the five most important spiritual habits of the Christian life. If you are interested in taking your relationship with Christ to another level, this seminar is for you. You can sign-up this Sunday.
- Mark your calendar. Our next quarterly business meeting will be Sunday February 21st, 4 PM at the Ministry Center. We will be reviewing the latest developments on the property site plan and building design.
- Ladies, Sharlene H will be hosting a special Ladies Night Out event, a Movie Night, at her home on Friday February 26th. She is asking those attending to submit their tickets so she can plan accordingly. Check out more information in this weeks bulletin.
- I mentioned earlier that there are a number of folks desiring to be Baptized. If you are interested in being baptized at the February 28th service please contact Pastor Joe.
- This week we continue our “Transformed” series. Our study in Romans 12 will be focusing on verses 6-8 in a message titled, “Helping Myself by Helping Others.” This will be nothing new for most of our regular attenders, but it is a truth that we all need to be reminded of regularly. I appreciate your prayers as I dig into this verse in my studies for this week’s message. The truth here is straight forward but is also transforming if we will embrace it. I do covet your prayers because spiritual growth is a spiritual battle, not only for the pastor but for those listening. Your prayers will release God’s power in hearts. Thanks for praying for me and the message this Sunday.
