• I wanted to give a big shout out to Pastor Berney and all those that have covered the church responsibilities this past week. Caryl and I have snuck away, as we do each year at this time, to celebrate our 31st Anniversary. And yes, a big Love You to Caryl!
• It sounds like the ladies had a great time at the Christmas party this past week. It is events like these that remind us to take time to enjoy the holiday season. I want to say Thank You to all those on the Women’s Ministry Team for pulling this together.
• Guys, our turn is this Saturday for our Men’s Christmas Flapjacks and Fellowship on Saturday, December 15th, 8am-10am at the Ministry Center. Breakfast is provided. Guys we are doing a white elephant tool exchange. Please bring a desirable new tool in the $10 range or a good used tool worth more than $10. Oh, be sure to wrap it! We will continue our in-depth look at understanding the Bible.
• This weekend we will also be caroling. This Sunday December 16th we will be meeting to go Caroling at 3:00 PM at the M.C Dinner will be provided afterward abound 5pm ish (depending on the number of stops), thanks to Pastor Zac, for a small donation $3 per person or $10 per family. This is a great family event. Please be sure to get us names of people that we can bring the cheer of Christmas to using the songs that focus on Jesus.
• I want to give a shout out to those that sponsored this year’s wreath sales and those that purchased the wreaths. Your gifts mean that 100% of the proceeds from the sales goes to help to reduce the cost for our High School and College students attending TLC. I have heard that we have 8 students attending!
• It is an exciting time related to the sale of the M.C. and the property development. God is working and things are moving more and more quickly. The buyer will be moving into the Ministry Center this week. They were in need of office space after they prematurely lost their existing lease. We have worked out an agreement to help them out with an early occupancy to include three office spaces. I want to say a Big Thank You to those that helped to clean out the Conference room, financial office and cubby room for them to use.
• They will be using three offices as we prepare to close on the building. We will continue to have use of the building until the end of February. We have also received the first response to the SDAP permit. We are working on the items needed for the permit. It is an exciting time.
• I know that some of you are struggling with memorizing Bible verses. I have chosen to have us memorize the popular and meaningful passage of Psalm 23. It speaks to all of us. This month our verse is Psalm 23:3. It is an easy verse that you need to commit to memory. “He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.” Psalm 23:3 ESV Let me encourage you to memorize all 6 verses of Psalm 23. If you are needing some accountability with working on your verse please check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
• This week, moving to the next message in our Christmas “Abounding in….” series, we look at the Christmas account of Joseph. He may be one of the most important and overlooked persons in the birth of Jesus. God used the big shoulders of this Godly man to nurture the Messiah. The sermon title will be “Abounding in Integrity.” I appreciate your prayers as I prepare for teaching the Word this Sunday. Thank You.
