Rearview Mirror 10-26-2017

  •  I hope that you will be a part of the Potluck that is scheduled for Sunday after the service. There is something very special about sharing a meal with others. We are asking each family to bring a main dish and salad, or main dish and dessert. I hope that you will plan to join us.
  • This is a big week for the Church building project as we have another hearing on our our Conditional Use Permit (Thursday October 26th.) The Hearing Examiner will be limiting the hearing to questions that she has concerning traffic issues raised by the city of Port Orchard. I do appreciate your prayer for this hearing and the approval of our permit.
  • There is still time to get plugged into our Parenting Class with the Ferguson that is meeting Friday nights 6:30PM at the Fergusons. If you are interested in attended, there is still time. The cost of the class will be $25 per couple. The focus of the class is developing a Biblical parenting model. Talk to Amy F or Pastor Joe if you are interested or have questions.
  • Time is ticking on getting your Operation Christmas Child gift boxes together. There is still time to pick up boxes to be filled. You are also encouraged to bring your filled boxes on Sundays. There is a special table in the foyer area.
  • I have selected Psalms 1:1-2 for our October MMV (Monthly Memory Verse). “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.” Psalm 1:1–2 ESV It is a reminder of the need to be on our guard. Let me encourage those of you with smart phones or tablets to check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
  • Our “No Excuses” study will be focusing on sharing the message of Jesus with others. This is another area that is easy to make excuses for not sharing Jesus’ love with others. If we are to “Live with No Excuses, Love with No Regrets” then we need to take advantage of those opportunities that the Lord gives us to touch lives. We will be looking at Jesus’ interaction with the Samaritan woman at the well. Thanks again for bringing me before the Lord each week as I prepare the message. There are times that I get stuck and I know that the Lord is using your prayers to get me over the hump.
