Rearview Mirror 10-24-2019

  •      It has been an exciting month as we are challenging ourselves to “Step in Faith” as we push forward to complete the first phase of our site development that will get us onto the property. It is hard to believe that we are on the verge of realizing gaining occupancy of the site. The process that began back in the Spring of 2015 is now being realized. There were seasons over the last 4 years when it seemed like we would never get to this point, yet we are here! This Sunday we have dedicated the whole offering to be used for the “Step in Faith Campaign.” Let me encourage you also to bring a completed commitment card. Let me encourage you to pray about what the Lord would have you to do as we all “Step in Faith!”
  •      You will want to plan to be a part of our Celebration Potluck schedule for this Sunday after the AM service. We are asking everyone to bring Soup and Bread or Soup and Pie. It will be a great time as we celebrate what the Lord is doing through us and enjoy some time together over a meal.
  •     I want to give a shout out to Gordon G for his help on Monday in the rain getting another portion of the fence installed.
  •    We are planning for a workday this Saturday to install trees and fencing. It you can help please let Pastor Joe know. We will be meeting at the property this Saturday from 9AM -??  Pastor will also be working on the site this Monday from 10 AM -?? Any help would be greatly appreciated. We have 121 trees to plant and approximately 1200 feet of fence to install to get our Occupancy Permit.
  •      We will be doing a soft kick off of the Operation Christmas Child this Sunday October 27th. There will be boxes available in the foyer. We will be encouraging each family to fill shoe boxes for this year’s drive to touch the hearts of children around the world with the love of a Christmas gift. The collection deadline will be November 17th.
  • Be sure to pass the word on AWANA. We are meeting at Givens Center again this year at 5:30 pm on Sundays. Let me encourage you to reach out to other families that have students in the K- 6th grade range to encourage them to attend. Please contact Pastor Berney with any questions.
  • Gals, there is a Ladies Bible Study on Tuesdays at 6:30 at Ragsdale’s for those who are interested. The Guys study is Wednesday at 7 pm. You will need to contact Pastor Berney since they rotate locations.
  • The Six 8 Youth Ministries is rolling with the High School students meeting Friday evenings and the Jr. High group meeting Sundays from 5:30- 8:30. Please contact Pastor Zac with any questions.

  • I have received some interest in an adult small group. Please let me know if you are interested in hosting or being a part of the group, please contact Pastor Joe.
  • Our Monthly Memory Verse for October is, ““Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” Psalm 100:3 ESV One of the greatest truths in the Bible is of God’s love and care for us. This verse can be a life preserver when facing difficulties.  If you are struggling in this area, let me encourage you to check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
  • This Sunday as we wrap our “Step In Faith” series I want to look at our real hope. We will be looking at how God’s working through us has a multi generation impact that we often overlook. Just like in Hebrews, those that “Walk in Faith,” left a legacy for God to work in future generations.  I would covet your prayers for our congregation as we step out in faith, trust the Lord to work through us. I appreciate your prayers for me as I prepare to bring the Lord’s challenge on this special Sunday.
