- I recently saw a sticker on the back window of a car, “Smile, You are Free.” This weekend we celebrate the founding of our nation on July 4. It was because of decisions made by our nation’s founders that today we can enjoy freedom in many areas of our lives except one. I am reminded that while it is worthy to celebrate our national holiday this weekend, let’s not forget that if I know Christ I am truly free!
- It was great to have Pete and Jamie Hudson with us this past weekend. Let me encourage you to consider support them with either a one-time gift or on a month to month basis. Just designate your gift to the “Hudsons.”
- Let me encourage you to join us each Wednesday evening to bring our ministry, and then the needs of others, before the Lord. I am reminded of the power of prayer, “If you abide in me, and my words abide in you, ask whatever you wish, and it will be done for you.” John 15:7 ESV
- We have two Men’s groups that are meeting. Pastor Berney leads a Thursday Evening group 7:00 pm at the church studying the Minor Prophets. Pastor Joe’s Thursday Morning Men’s group is back and meeting on Thursday mornings at 10AM.
- Six-8 Youth Jr high meets on Sundays 5:30pm-7:30pm at the Church Office. The Sr High is meeting on Fridays 6:30-8:30pm at the Church Office. Please contact Pastor Zac for more information.
- Our July Monthly Memory verse is found in 2 Corinthians 5:21. It reminds of that we have been saved to live for Jesus “For our sake he made him to be sin who knew no sin, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.” 2 Corinthians 5:21 ESV I strongly encourage you to develop a system for memorizing Scripture. - We will pick up our “Authentic Ministry” series in our study of 2 Corinthians 3. It is easy for us, as people, to focus on the externals of ministry like the website, the promotion and even the presentation. But Paul reminds us that authentic ministry is realized when we focus on the depth of our relationship with the Lord and let him worry about the breadth or impact it. I do appreciate all the prayers and support for the teaching of the Word each week. Pray that the Lord would speak through the message for His Glory!
