Rearview Mirror 4-1-2-21

  • I heard of a car manufacturer that changed their name to begin with the word “volts” from “volks.” They later came out saying it was an April fools prank and more like a marketing stunt to promote their move to electrical vehicles. Well this is not an April Fools joke- that we will hold our first public church service this Sunday and our first Easter Service in two years. It has been just over a year since we held a public service. You are invited to join us and invite others to one of our two Easter Sunday services at 9:00AM and 10:30AM.
  • We have put aside a few of our Easter traditions for our first service back. There will be no Easter brunch this year. There will also not be an egg hunt for the kids. But we will be holding two services at 9AM (Masks required but no children’s ministry offered) and 10:30 AM (Masks optional). The children’s ministry will be offered for the 10:30 AM service.
  • We are encouraging our regular attenders to take advantage of the first service and especially those not needing to take advantage of  the children’s ministry. We are looking forward to another full Sunday and hope you will join us and invite your friends and family.
  • We are looking for someone with experience on Ebay, Facebook Marketplace, Craigslist or ?  to help us sell some excess Sound Equipment. Our consolidation of facilities has left us with extra gear. We are able to provide help with descriptions and pricing. If you are able to help, please contact Pastor Joe.
  • Our Wednesday evening 7pm prayer time is growing. I want to thank all those involved for taking the time to pray corporately. We would love to have you join us in praying for our ministry in our community.
  • We have two Men’s groups that are meeting. Pastor Berney leads a Thursday Evening group 7:00 pm at the church studying the Minor Prophets. Pastor Joe is leading the Thursday Men’s daytime group at 10AM also at the office. The daytime group is doing Sermon based discussions for those interested.
  • Ladies, time to make plans for the Spring Ladies Retreat. You can now register for the Friday and Saturday of April 23rd and 24th on Realm. This will be the first non-service event to be held in the new building! (Click Here to Register)
  • Six-8 Youth Jr high meets on Sundays 5-7pm at the Church Office. The Sr High is now meeting on Fridays 6:30-8:30pm also at the Church Office. The Tuesday night Youth Hangout 6:30-8:30pm for both groups will continue to be at the Schramek’s. Please contact Pastor Zac for more information.
  • Our Monthly Memory Verse for April 2021 comes from our series in Philippians. It is a verse that reminds of the necessity to be other-centered rather than self-centered. “Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.” Philippians 2:3 ESV I would also suggest you add Philippians 2:4.  If you struggle with memorizing or even consistency, let me encourage you to check out the Bible Memory App. (IOS and Android) www.BibleMemory.com
  • The Apostle Paul has been very transparent so far in our study of Philippians. We have gleaned a number of profound insights for Living Above the Noise. This week Paul presses us further to embrace living an other-centered life. This week we, as we celebrate Easter, we will be reminded that living other-centered is part of what Jesus died for. Once again I thank you for your prayers for us as we continue to ramp up services at our new location and as I prepare for Sunday. Thank You.
