Rearview Mirror 10-10-2019

  •      This past Sunday we launched our “Step In Faith” stewardship campaign. We are on the verge of moving to our property and have a few items that need to be wrapped up. The campaign is a time to focus on building our faith as we experience God working through us to cover the financial cost of these last items. It is also an opportunity to fund the next step of a Worship modular on site. Let me encourage you to pray about joining with others to help us realize this desire of the Lord for a church home of our own. It is something that we can do if we all work together.
  •     We are scheduling a work day on Saturday from 9AM -?? The focus of our time will be on installing fencing and planting trees. We have over 1300 linear feet of fencing and around 1900 linear feet of landscaping. We have 157 trees that need to be planted. We are hoping to have enough help to have at least two teams. Please contact Pastor Joe if you can help, so he can plan.
  • It is that time of the year to participate in Operation Christmas Child. We will be encouraging each family to fill shoe boxes for this year’s drive to touch the hearts of children around the world with the love of a Christmas gift. We will have boxes available later this month. The collection deadline will be November 17th.
  • Be sure to plan for the “Celebration Potluck” Sunday October 27th after the AM service. We are asking everyone to bring Soup and Bread or Soup and Pie. It promises to be a great Sunday as we celebrate what the Lord is doing.
  • Be sure to pass the word on AWANA. We are meeting at Givens Center again this year at 5:30 pm on Sundays. Let me encourage you to reach out to other families that have students in the K- 6th grade range to encourage them to attend. Please contact Pastor Berney with any questions.
  • The Six 8 Youth Ministries is rolling with the High School students meeting Friday evenings and the Jr. High group meeting Sundays from 5:30- 8:30. Please contact Pastor Zac with any questions.
  • There is some interest in starting a Financial Peace study. Please contact Andrew or Anna Nelson if you are interested.
  • I have received some interest in an adult small group. Please let me know if you are interested in hosting or being a part of the group, please contact Pastor Joe.
  • Our Monthly Memory Verse for October is, ““Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” Psalm 100:3 ESV One of the greatest truths in the Bible is of God’s love and care for us. This verse can be a life preserver when facing difficulties.  If you are struggling in this area, let me encourage you to check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
  • This Sunday we continue our “Step In Faith” series as we look at Noah. Noah’s testimony in the Bible encourages us to trust God in our lives. His faith is a reminder of what God can do through us when we trust Him! Let me encourage you to pray for our congregation during our campaign and for me as I prepare for our time in the Word this Sunday.
