Rearview Mirror 10-3-2019

  •      It is a blessing for me to be a part of Living Hope. I am continually humbled at that Lord’s working in our midst. We are seeing so many great things happen on so many levels, yet we also have those that are walking through tough times. It is a blessing for me to see and hear of our church family caring for each other, thank you!
  •     The excavation of the property is starting to wind down. It has been amazing to see God’s hand in the different aspects of the project. It is time for us, meaning you and I, to get involved in two ways to get us onto the site. First, we need to take care of some physical projects that will help us to save money by doing it ourselves. (fencing, landscaping, ramp and plumbing). And second, it is time for us to get involved financially to push the site development to completion and for the purchase of a Worship modular. I am personally excited to see how the Lord works through us. Would you join me in praying for this next step in getting into our own building? I will be sharing more this Sunday.
  • I am excited that the Ladies had a great ministry kick-off. While I do not specifically know those involved, I do want to give a shout out to those gals that made it happen.
  • It is that time of the year to participate in Operation Christmas Child. We will be encouraging each family to fill shoe boxes for this year’s drive to touch the hearts of children around the world with the love of a Christmas gift. We will have boxes available later this month. The collection deadline will be November 17th.
  • Be sure to pass the word on AWANA. We are meeting at Givens Center again this year at 5:30 pm on Sundays. Let me encourage you to reach out to other families that have students in the K- 6th grade range to encourage them to attend. Please contact Pastor Berney with any questions.
  • The Six 8 Youth Ministries is rolling with the High School students meeting Friday evenings and the Jr. High group meeting Sundays from 5:30- 8:30. Please contact Pastor Zac with any questions.
  • There is some interest in starting a Financial Peace study. Please contact Andrew or Anna Nelson if you are interested.
  • I have received some interest in an adult small group. Please let me know if you are interested in hosting or being a part of the group, please contact Pastor Joe.
  • Our Monthly Memory Verse for October is, ““Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.” Psalm 100:3 ESV One of the greatest truths in the Bible is of God’s love and care for us. This verse can be a life preserver when facing difficulties.  If you are struggling in this area, let me encourage you to check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
  • This Sunday we will be launching a 4 weeks Stewardship emphasis “Step In” as we focus on join God in what He is doing in Port Orchard. We will be looking at four selected passages from Hebrews 11 focusing on faith. Let me encourage you to pray for our congregation as we watch God work in our midst in getting onto our property! I also covet your prayers for me and the office staff as we work on pulling the different pieces together to make this happen. Thank You
