Rearview Mirror 3-30-2017

  • It was good for Caryl and I to get away for a few days with our daughter for “Spring Break.” The older I get the more I realize how precious these times are with family. We had a great time even though it did not stop raining!
  • Ladies, just a reminder that our ladies will be celebrating Lyndzee’s upcoming marriage to Jason, with a wedding shower this Saturday April 1, 2pm at the Ministry Center. I hope that you will RSVP to Amy F.
  • Gals, there is also a new Ladies Bible study that has launched this week. There is still time for you to get in on the study of Philippians that meets Wednesday nights at 6:45pm at the Ministry Center. Please talk to Joelle is you are interested.
  • And gals, just a reminder for those involved in the monthly Ladies Discipleship group, that meets the first Sunday of each month. The next meeting is this Saturday April 1 from 10am – Noon at the Ministry Center.
  • Guys, let me encourage you to plan to join the other men in our church in attending the Camp Gilead Men’s Retreat, Friday April 7 – Saturday April 8. We will be carpooling from the Ministry Center at 3pm and should be back Saturday afternoon by 4pm. The cost is $55 and you can register at http://www.campgilead.org/retreats/ and select the register button. Let us know you are attending by completing the bulletin insert this Sunday.
  • Easter is a big day at Living Hope and there are a couple announcements as we prepare to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection this year on April 16th. Our Sunday events will begin with a brunch before the service followed by a special Easter service and an Egg Hunt for the kids after the service. I hope you will plan to invite your family and friends to this special service.
  • We are looking for those that would provide Easter Lilies, which you can take home after the service, for Easter Sunday decorations. Please sign up using the bulletin insert or contact Caryl P.
  •  We are also collecting financial donations for Easter Candy for the Egg Hunt (designate for Egg Hunt) or small wrapped candy donations that can fit in the plastic eggs. Please contact Kendra D with any questions.
  • This would be a good time for you to review our previous Monthly Memory verses along with the one for March’s verse: January – Luke 11:34; February – 2 Peter 1:3; and March Philippians 4:6-7. The new April verse will be a surprise this Sunday. Come Sunday prepared to to learn a new verse! Also, if you are looking for a good phone app, I recommend the Scripture Typer App. (IOS and Android)
  • I know August seems a long way off, but Family Camp is just around the corner. Let me encourage you to plan now to join us we head back to Lake Cushman over the weekend of August 25-27. If you are interested please let us know so we can reserve a site for you. It is also a great event to bring a friend.
  • Thanks to those that have submitted memory verses. The pastors will be reviewing the submissions for the May verse. Please text, email your favorite verse and the reason why.
  • Our studies on the life of Jesus for the Life Lessons series have been a huge blessing to me. I hope they have been a blessing to you. This Sunday we will be looking at Jesus’ example to “Live Outside the Box” as we study the passage of the feeding of the 5000 and maybe a couple others as the Lord leads. I do appreciate your prayers for me and this week’s message.
