Rearview Mirror 11-9-2017

  • I want to thank Pastor Zac for bringing the message this Sunday. I find the passage of Peter getting out of the boat incredibly challenging and a wonderful blessing at the same time. I appreciate Pastor Zac’s and Pastor Berney’s role in shepherding our congregation through God’s Word.
  • This Sunday we will be celebrating Veterans Day (which falls on Saturday November 11th.) We will be incorporating a special time to honor those that have served our country. You may want to say thanks to those veterans in your life.
  • ***UPDATE We Should Have Results**** Continue to pray for our Conditional Use Permit. We are currently waiting to hear back on the Hearing Examiners decision. The latest we should here is next Friday but it should happen sooner.
  • Gals, just a reminder that the Ladies Discipleship Group will be meeting this Saturday November 11 from 10am – Noon.
  • Family Game Day. A big thanks to Pastor Zac for organizing a Family Game Day Saturday November 18 10AM-3pm. All ages are welcome. Come, bring a game and plan to have fun. Lunch will be provided.
  • This Sunday is the big day to drop off your Operation Christmas Child gift boxes at church. If you happen to miss our church collection you can coordinate with Adventure of Faith to drop off your boxes before Friday November 17th. I want to say a big “Thank You” to everyone that is participating in sharing the Love of Jesus with kids around the world!
  • Save the Date for the Ladies Annual Christmas Party Friday December 8, 7pm at the Ministry Center. The big change this year is the Candle exchange instead of the Ornament exchange. This corresponds to the Ladies theme “Let Your Light Shine.” So bring a wrapped candle (limit $5) for this year’s candle exchange. Food and drink will be provided.
  • Our November MMV (Monthly Memory Verse). ““but in your hearts honor Christ the Lord as holy, always being prepared to make a defense to anyone who asks you for a reason for the hope that is in you; yet do it with gentleness and respect,” 1 Peter 3:15 ESV  It is a reminder of the need to be a gracious witness for Jesus. Let me encourage those of you with smart phones or tablets to check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
  • Our “No Excuses” study will be focusing on perseverance as we look at the life of Jesus and ponder some of the many excuses he could have made. If we are to “Live with No Excuses, Love with No Regrets” then we must embrace life’s difficulties and “Choose to Grow!” We often underestimate the significance of prayer. It frequently happens that I am struggling with a particular passage and then the Lord works in a powerful way through the service. Your prayers are releasing God’s power to work in me and others. I want to say Thank You to each person that prays for me as I study and for our service on Sunday.
