Rearview Mirror 10-15-2015

  • I want to begin by saying Thank You to everyone that has been serving at Living Hope.  I am continually humbled by all that is done by the different members of our team.  I see it each Sunday at our services and I see it during the week.  There are people helping to make cookies for our new visitor visitation, to those that are working on projects at the house, to working on getting the truck ready, to those helping with AWANA.  If you are in the list above or serving in an area not mentioned.  Thank You!
  • It was good to get away for a couple days to work on the next phase of sermons.  I spent time working on our Christmas series and the new campaign for January called “Transformed.”  I do appreciate your prayers for me as I seek the Lord’s leading for His focus for the upcoming messages.
  • A big thanks to everyone that helped count and process 27,800 mailers for the new God Questions series which begins Sunday November 1st.  Please remember to pray for this new campaign and also be sure to talk to those that God is bringing across your path.
  • There are a couple big things happening this weekend.  The first is a work day at the Property.  We will begin at 8:30am.  We will be focusing on cleanup.  We need to cleanup up vegetation, the inside of the house and the garbage on the property.  Lunch will be provided.  Like most projects, it is a lot easier when there are more people involved and it is a blast to serve the Lord together as a church family.
  • This Sunday we will also be launching our Operation Christmas Child drive.  Each year we are able to do close to 100 gift boxes for needy children around the world.  It is one way that we can give back for all the Lord’s blessings in our lives.
  • The second big thing this weekend is the celebration Pot Luck this Sunday after the AM service.  We are asking our families to bring a Main Dish and Salad or a Main Dish and Dessert.  Plan to stick around and connect with some the new families the Lord has been bringing into our church family.
  • There will be a Family Game Night/Halloween Party at the Ministry Center October 30th.  Please note that this is a date change from the 23rd.  It should be a great time to enjoy some pizza and other goodies plus plan games.  Bring your favorite game.  Plan now to be a part of this great time together.
  • Our general fund giving could use a financial boost.  I want to say Thank You to those that are faithful in giving.  If you are able to do extra it could be a huge blessing.
  • There have been a number of steps forward on the property.  The Asbestos Abatement was completed last week and we are now clear to tear down the house.  The temporary power pole has been installed and has passed the electrical inspection.  We are working with our engineer on obtaining the conditional use Permit and have contracted with an architect to help us develop a building design for the master site plan.
  • I hope the marriage series has been a blessing to you as it has been to me.  This week we will conclude the series with a message titled “Becoming Friends with the In-Laws.” This is often one of the first areas of conflict in a marriage.  We will be looking at insights from God’s work on this important area.  I would appreciate your prayers for me as I prepare to handle God’s Word this weekend.
