Rearview Mirror 10-5-2017

  • I have really been burdened over these last months with all the evil that is happening around us and in our nation. The events in Las Vegas were just another reminder of the need for followers of Jesus to live for Him. Then we can be the light and the hope that our culture so desperately needs.
  • This Friday is the deadline for the Continuance for our Conditional Use Permit. The Continuance is an extended time for additional arguments or concerns to be submitted concerning our project. Let me encourage you to pray for the Hearing Examiner as she will be reviewing our request for the Conditional Use Permit. Pray that our request is approved.
  • We are launching a Parenting Class in a couple weeks. If you are interested, talk to Pastor Joe or Amy F. We will be meeting on Friday evenings. The focus of the class will be bringing Biblical principles into our own lives and then integrating them into our parenting. Caryl and I can speak to the family changing impact of this approach.
  • Gals, the October Ladies Discipleship group is this Saturday from 10am-Noon at the Ministry Center. Please contact Caryl P. if you are interested in participating.
  • The Six-8 Youth are encouraging parents of children to have a Date Night Out. They will be providing Child Care on Saturday October 14th from 7pm-11pm. Please contact Pastor Zac with any questions.
  • Please pray about the need we have for Sunday School teachers and AWANA helpers. If you are interested in either of these talk to Kendra (KidsZone/Sunday School) or Pastor Berney (AWANA).
  • Please keep praying for someone that can “Sign” in the service. We would like to offer this. We have been unable to locate someone that could help. Please let Pastor Joe know if you have any ideas.
  • I have selected Psalms 1:1-2 for our October MMV (Monthly Memory Verse). “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night.” Psalm 1:1–2 ESV It is a reminder of the need to be on our guard. Let me encourage those of you with smart phones or tablets to check out the ScriptureTyper App. (IOS and Android)
  • We will continue our study this week on Live with No Excuses, Love with No Regrets or “No Excuses” for short. The focus this week will be on the importance of Personal Integrity. We will be looking at the account of Achan. A man who compromised his personal integrity and suffered the consequences. Please pray that the Lord would work in me through my time in the text so that I could be a clean vessel that He could woek through into the lives of others.
